CotWs UCM DzC Forces

PostWed Feb 10, 2016 8:23 pm

This will be where I show off the new UCM army I have recently picked up! Just started the game this year but I have been painting and gaming for about 22 years now. At this time in my painting career I am more interested in having table top ready models rather than painting comp winning armies that take me several years to get around to doing. Having the not buying new models till the first set are painted is encouraging me as well!

Edit: First pic upload was a disaster with the images being huge. What size is good for the pixel width of the forum for future posts?

Thanks! Got the inspiration for the dropships from someone else I saw here, onine I believe. He did them better than I but I'm happy with the result based on the time put in.

Got some more to show off too!

The Longbows look much nicer in real life, think my flash ruined the picture. Might try again tomorrow if I remember. Sadly my Longbows are also flying on borrowed wings until my local store gets some more Raven Bs in stock! I also was lucky enough to place 2nd in a local tourny and got another UCM Starter set with the help of my winnings store credit. So more ships and troops inbound soon!

Some nice work there. Always good to see a fellow UCM player bring the paint! I especially like the red cockpit effect you have on your dropships... almost looks as if they are windows that you can actually see into! :D

I look forwards to seeing more of what you got!

Thanks! I actually took a couple more pics of the cockpits to show you what I did closer up. The Condors are the plastic ones so you can actually see into them! I just painted the pilots red to make it look like the lighting inside the cockpit is lighting everything up while also making them all match the ships without glass.

I should have another starter set worth of plastic to post in a week or so. Then its a waiting game for when the local shops get more DzC in stock and I can buy the missing links from my list! Will probably start my starter box Scourge during that wait time so watch for that post coming up soon as well.

Funny enough, as I hit send on the post I realised that the starter set cockpits are see through and I realised htat this is probably what you had done. Still, its a really nice effect.

Nice work there. I like the ground forces and the urban camo going on. The red is a nice contrast for the cold grey and definitely makes them pop. Did you have a specific reason you separated the flying units from the ground forces by colors?

Cheers,
Tristan.
